Sling Crossbody Bag Hand Braided Ropes | Tibetan | Traditionally Inspired | Natural Fibre | Christmas gift | Pastoral | Travel Bag
The highlight of this bag is its unique form as well as a coiled strap design. Its inspiration comes from the Tibetan sling called "Wuerdo" that is used by herders to drive their sheep and cattle. The sling itself is a one and a half meters long yak hair rope with a diamond-shaped pocket in the middle.
The bag's main body is made with "Re", a traditional fabric used by herders. Local herders would spin wool fibres into threads, twist threads into ropes, and weave ropes into fabrics.
The bag strap is made from both sheep hide and yak wool. Under the ingenuity of our designer, Lelema's craftswomen has created such a product that perfectly reflects features of traditional Tibetan life.
